Reconfigurable Microstrip Patch Antenna for Frequency Diversity Using RF MEMS
Abstract: A novel reconfigurable patch antenna for frequency diversity is proposed by reconfiguring its geometry using tree rectangular tapes that are connected to the patch via six RF MEMS switches. So switching between the different frequency bands is achieved by using capacitive series RF-MEMS switches. The antenna was designed to operate at 2.6 GHz, 3.1 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 5 GHz.
متن کاملMulticusp ion source with external RF antenna for production of H− ions
A multicusp ion source with modular design was developed at LBNL for production of H− ions. The source consists of a front plate, two multicusp front chambers, a quartz flange with external 3-loop RF antenna and a rear multicusp chamber. The source has LaB6 sputtering target at the rear chamber to lower the work function of the surfaces by coating them with LaB6 and an external cesium oven on t...
متن کاملSi-si Bonding Using Rf and Microwave Radiation
Electromagnetic radiation ranging in frequency from a few MHz to tens of GHz has been used to volumetrically heat silicon above 1000°C in only a few seconds. Typical power is <1.5 kW. This technique has successfully produced direct Si wafer-to-wafer bonds in only five minutes without the use of any intermediate glue layer. Infrared images indicate void free bonds, and knife-edge tests could not...
متن کاملRF and Microwave Oscillator Design using p-HEMT Transistor
This paper presents a systematic approach to designing negative-resistance and Colpitts oscillators using p-HEMT transistor. Various models such as, common source and common gate configuration in negative-resistance oscillators, common source series feedback in Colpitts oscillator is selected to analyze the output power and stability presented by the p-HEMT transistor. These oscillators are des...
متن کاملErrors in Measurement of Microwave Interferograms Using Antenna Matrix
New antenna matrices for both scalar and vector measurement of microwave interferograms for the frequency 2.45 GHz were developed and used for an analysis of sources of measurement errors. Influence of mutual coupling between individual antennas in an antenna matrix on a measurement of microwave interferograms, particularly on a measurement of interferogram minimum values, was studied. Simulati...
